JOYFUL NOISE (2012) - The Church Choir Comedy

The long anticipated movie Joyful Noise opened in US theaters today January 13, 2012 in the USA. The church choir comedy marks the return of Dolly Parton (who plays the role of G.G. Sparrow) to the big screen for the first time since Straight Talk, 20 years ago as she faces off with her choir's newly appointed director, Vi Rose Hill, (Queen Latifah) over the group's direction as they head into a national competition.

The Pacashau Sacred Divinity Choir is in the middle of a performance when long-time director Bernard Sparrow (Kris Kristofferson) suffers a fatal heart attack. In order to continue to the annual Joyful Noise gospel competition, the church leaders must choose between his wife, G.G. (Parton) and Vi Rose Hill (Latifah), who has been his second for many years.

Adding an even more dramatic twist is the arrival of G.G.'s rebellious grandson, Randy (Jeremy Jordan). Randy has an ear for music, but he also has an eye for Vi Rose's beautiful and talented daughter, Olivia (Keke Palmer), and the sparks between the two teenagers are causing even more friction between G.G. and Vi Rose.

These two strong-willed women are now saddled with the task of putting aside their differences, give some room for Randy, who through his great musical talents remolds and modernizes the choir for not only their good, but that of the choir to be make the most joyful noise of all, and for the overall good of the people, who are counting on the Divinity Church Choir to lift their spirits by winning the National Joyful Noise Competition.

Pacashau Sacred Divinity is full of quirky characters, petty grievances and small-town rivalries that many a church member can relate to. We hope you enjoy it.

Praiseworld believes this looks to record remarkable success in the box office. We hope you enjoy the movie as well.
